Innsbruck

Sectioned off area with dumpsters for different streams of waste near a graveyard.

In the touristy streets (some bins like these are attached to benches).

Many of these bins throughout the city. Most have short statements in different languages encouraging people to make use of the bins. Garbage collection workers place a box underneath and open the bin from the bottom to empty.

Dumpsters often become informal billboards.

  1. Hi. I'm in the middle of going through my Innsbruck pictures and I realized (smartly) I took a number of pictures of their red garbage bins with different sayings. A Google search led me here. While the sayings might be considered a "rubbish mix" of languages, they're enough to get people to do a double take and actually use the bins as intended. :-)
